60-Day Quran Memorization Program to Start in Belgium

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  An Islamic institute in the Belgian capital is planning to hold a program in which the participants memorize the entire Quran in two months.The El-Hikma Islamic Institute in Brussels is organizing the program, which is to begin in the near future, elhikma website reported.The institute in a statement said its method for learning the Quran by heart is unique all over Europe.It said prominent Belgian Quran expert Sheikh Muhammad Lamasia will be teachings the 2-month course.According to the statement, registration for the program will start in mid-March.The El-Hikma Islamic Institute has also been holding Tajweed recitation courses for different age groups since the beginning of the current year.Belgium is home to an estimated 650,000 Muslims, or around 6 percent of the overall population, based on an average of several statistical estimates. Most of the country’s Muslims live in the capital Brussels./149
